2. To gain access to the parking brake adjuster nut, remove the rear section of the center console as described in chapter 11.
3. Place wheel chocks under the front wheels. Raise the rear of the vehicle and securely jack stands under it (see «Lifting and placing the car on supports»).
4. Apply and tighten the parking brake four times.
5. After applying the parking brake to the fifth click of the ratchet, check that both rear wheels are locked. If they are not locked, tighten the parking brake adjusting nut until both rear wheels are locked (pic. 13.5). After that, fully release the parking brake lever and make sure that the rear wheels rotate freely. Check the adjustment by fully applying the parking brake, counting the number of clicks of the parking brake ratchet. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.

6. Having achieved the correct adjustment, install the center console, and then lower the car.
