The electronic anti-theft system provides control of the perimeter and volume of the car interior and blocks the engine management system immediately after the ignition is turned off and prevents a person without a key from starting the engine.
Perimeter control sensor - triggered by unauthorized opening of the door, trunk lid or hood.
Volume control sensor - triggered in case of violation of the volumetric space in the cabin (for example, when breaking glass or any movement in the cabin).
The plastic handle of the ignition key contains an individual electronic code. When the ignition is switched on, the code is recognized by the anti-theft system and the engine can be started.
In the event of a malfunction of the anti-theft system, the warning lamp, located in the central part of the instrument panel, starts flashing at an accelerated frequency when the ignition is turned on, while a buzzer sounds and the display shows the message «The anti-theft system is faulty».
In this case, starting the car engine is not possible. You must contact a Peugeot Dealership immediately.
