2. Using a screwdriver as a lever, remove the linkage ball joint from the selector shaft.
3. Using a screwdriver, pry the selector shaft o-ring out of the housing (drawing on the left), and slide it off the end of the shaft (drawing on the right).
4. Check the condition of the surface of the gear selection shaft mating with the O-ring and if there are scratches or burrs, polish this surface or replace the gear selection shaft.
5. Lubricate the sealing lips of the new O-ring and slide the O-ring into place in the gearbox by sliding it onto the gear selection shaft.
6. Connect the link to the gear selection shaft. Install the left front wheel and lower the vehicle.
