Left crankshaft seal ring (Peugeot 406)

1. Remove the flywheel and clutch.

2. Measure the installation depth of the sealing ring. Remove the sealing ring using a special tool. Alternatively, drill two small holes in the end of the sealing ring, screw in two self-tapping screws and, using pliers, pull the sealing ring out of the seat by the screw heads. Clean the sealing ring seat and the sealing surface of the crankshaft. Dip a new sealing ring in clean engine oil and install it in the seat to the previously measured depth using a suitable mandrel.

3. Install the flywheel.
