Crankshaft
Cylinder block marking / crankshaft (engine 1.4 l)
Marking area (E):
- letters for code (five letters identify the earbuds to be installed);
- the first letter indicates the root neck according to No. 1;
- an arrow that indicates the direction of rotation of the timing mechanism.
Zone (A):
- letters for code (five letters identify the earbuds to be installed) (WITH);
- the first letter indicates the root neck according to No. 1;
- the arrow points to the drive side of the timing mechanism.
Zone (IN): barcode used in the factory.
Zone (D): marking area - engine type.
Ensuring the pairing of liners of the crankshaft journals (engine 1.4 l)
- Class A: blue label.
- Class B: orange label.
- Class C: black mark.
- Class D: yellow label.
- Class E: green label.
- Class G: white mark.
Bearing cap side (example): if the first letter in the crankshaft marking is S, and in the cylinder block marking is E, the main bearing on the side of the cover of the main bearing No. 1 must be class B (Orange color).
Cylinder block side: upper liner (from the side of the cylinder block) must always be class C (black color).
Ensuring the pairing of liners of the crankshaft journals (engine 1.6 l)
- Class A: blue label.
- Class B: black mark.
- Class C: green label.
Bearing cap side (example): if the first letter in the crankshaft marking is S, and in the cylinder block marking is E, the main bearing on the side of the cover of the main bearing No. 1 must be class A (color: blue).
Cylinder block side: upper liner (from the side of the cylinder block) must always be class B (black color).
Inserts
color label (WITH) allows you to identify the liner class.
Characteristics
Thrust half rings for adjusting the side clearance are indicated in the figure by the number (1). The bearings of the main journals 2 and 4 have grooves.
Side shim thickness (crankshaft): (G) 2.40/2.50/2.55/2.60mm.
Attention. Observe the correct installation of the inserts.
Main journals 1 - 3 - 5: smooth bearings (on the side of the cylinder block and bearing caps). Main journals 2 - 4: grooved bearings (on the side of the cylinder block and bearing caps).
Note. Oversized main journal bearings are stamped on the R side of the main journal cover.
1.4L Engine Liner Sizes
* Letter R embossed on the back of the insert.
1.6L Engine Liner Sizes
* Letter R embossed on the back of the insert.
- Class A (initial size) becomes class U (repair thickness).
- Class B (initial size) becomes class V (repair thickness).
- Class C (initial size) becomes class W (repair thickness).
- Class D (initial size) becomes class X (repair thickness).
- Class E (initial size) becomes class Y (repair thickness).
- Class G (initial size) becomes class Z (repair thickness).
- Class A (initial size) becomes class Z (repair thickness).
- Class B (initial size) becomes class Y (repair thickness).
- Class C (initial size) becomes class X (repair thickness).
Attention. The boring of connecting rod and main journals requires further polishing.
