Removing
1.9 liter engines
1. Remove the auxiliary drive belt.
2. Align the mounting holes in the camshaft pulleys, fuel pump and flywheel and fix them with bolts and rods.
3. Loosen the timing belt tensioner pivot nut and adjusting bolt, then turn the tensioner hanger counterclockwise to release tension on the belt, and re-tighten the adjusting bolt.
4. Unscrew the two bolts securing the idler strut to the cylinder block, bearing in mind that the top bolt also secures the suspension.
5. Loosen the four mounting bolts, keeping in mind that the top bolt is on the inside of the front plate. Remove the guide roller.
Engines 2.1 liters
6. Remove the toothed belt.
7. Unscrew the central bolt of fastening of the directing roller and remove it from the engine.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
