Removal
1. Remove the accessory drive belt as described in chapter 1B.
2. Align the engine/camshaft assembly mounting holes as described in paragraph 3, and lock the camshaft timing pulley, high pressure fuel pump timing pulley and flywheel. Do not crank the engine with the locking rods installed.
3. Loosen the timing belt tensioner shaft mounting nut and adjusting bolt, then turn the tensioner bracket counterclockwise to release the tension and tighten the adjusting bolt again to hold the tensioner in the released position. To turn the tensioner bracket against the spring force, use a 10mm square head ratchet, inserted into the provided hole.
4. Unscrew the two bolts and stud securing the intermediate roller assembly to the cylinder block. Note that the top bolt also holds the engine support bracket.
5. Slightly loosen the four engine mount mounting bolts, keeping in mind that the topmost bolt is on the inside surface of the engine front plate and also holds the engine rigging bracket. Remove the idler roller assembly.
Installation
6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points:
- a) Tighten all bolts/nuts to the specified torque.
- b) Tighten the timing belt as described in paragraph 7.
- c) Install and tension the accessory drive belt as described in chapter 1B.
