Removal
Top caps
1. If work is to be performed that requires removal of the timing belt, remove the right engine mount bracket to the body as described in paragraph 9. This makes access much easier.
2. Unscrew the two bolts securing the camshaft toothed pulley cover, and also unscrew the nut and unscrew the bolt securing the high-pressure fuel pump toothed pulley cover.
3. Loosen the covers and remove them from the engine.
Bottom cover
4. Remove the crankshaft pulley as described in paragraph 5.
5. Remove both top covers as described above.
6. Unscrew the two remaining nuts and remove the bottom cover.
Installation
7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Make sure each cover section is properly positioned and tighten the cover mounting nuts and/or bolts securely.
