Removal
1.6 liter engines
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. The ignition coil is mounted on the left front end of the cylinder head.
2. Release the retainer and remove the connector from the ignition coil.
3. Label the high voltage wires and disconnect them from the ignition coil.
4. Unscrew the 4 mounting screws and remove the ignition coil.
1.8 and 2.0 liter engines
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. The engine has 4 individual ignition coils, each on top of the spark plug.

2. To access the ignition coils, disconnect the connectors at the left end of the ignition unit, then unscrew the 6 mounting bolts and lift the ignition unit up off the spark plugs. Individual ignition coils can be removed from the ignition unit if necessary.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
