1. Disconnect the support bearing housing mounting bracket from the cylinder block. If the thrust bearing did not come out of the housing together with the shaft, then it must be pressed out of the housing together with the oil seal.
2. Install a new bearing and a new seal into the housing, and then insert the drive shaft into the bearing as described above.
3. Lubricate the bearing with general purpose grease.
4. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 10 Nm.
Illustration 8.0 shows a section of the support bearing housing and shows the position of the support bearing mounting bolt heads. The heads of these bolts must be offset a quarter turn to allow the drive shaft to be removed from the thrust bearing.
