Checking the steering play (Peugeot Eurovans 806)

53. Lower the window on the driver's door. While outside the car, grab the steering wheel and turn it back and forth. At the same time, keep an eye on the left wheel. It should move immediately in accordance with the movement of the steering wheel. If the wheel starts to move late, the steering play is too great. The reasons may be increased play in the steering rack, wear of the tie rod ends or its inner joints, or wear of the steering shaft crosspiece.
