Special devices for checking the pressure in the hydraulic booster circuit:
1 - pressure gauge 0710.AZ;
2 - branch pipe for checking with a pressure gauge with a tap 0710. B1;
3 - branch pipe for checking the high pressure hose with a tap 0710.B2;
4 - branch pipe for checking the high-pressure pump with a valve 0710.VZ;
5 - three-way valve 0710.C;
6 - fitting 0710.J;
7 - fitting 0710.K;
8 - plugs for checking the tightness of the distributor 0710.N.
Attention. Open the circuit carefully to prevent dirt particles from entering it.
Note. Proper operation of the unit requires exceptional cleanliness/power steering fluid and hydraulic components.
Check the power steering fluid level and the condition of the pipes and couplings. Prepare and assemble the test kit by connecting the fixtures as shown in the figure below.
Hang fixture 1.
Remove:
- front right wheel;
- right front fender liner;
- washer tank.
Move aside the high pressure pipe (1).
Screw down:
- fitting 6 to the power steering electric pump;
- fitting 7 on the high pressure pipeline (1).
Tighten all connections.
Fill the power steering reservoir 10 mm below the maximum mark.
Attention. Use a new working fluid to replace and top up the system.
Open tap 5.
Start the engine and let it run for five seconds.
Stop the engine.
Turn the steering wheel several times in both directions.
Check the power steering fluid level and check for leaks.
Checking the pressure of the electric pump
Start the engine.
Close tap 5 for five seconds.
Open tap 5.
Stop the engine.
At fast idle (1200-1500 rpm) pressure must be 105±5 bar.
If the pressure of the electric pump is normal, check the tightness of the distributor.
Distributor leak test
Remove the bottom protection of the power unit.
Slide the heat shield on the steering gear.
Unscrew fittings (2) on the working hydraulic cylinder of the steering mechanism.
Disconnect the two supply lines (3) from the control valve and move them aside.
Install on control valve (2) plugs 8 and tighten to 8 Nm.
Slowly move the steering from end to end to empty the cylinder.
Add fluid to the power steering reservoir.
Open tap 5.
Start the engine.
Maintain engine speed at fast idle.
Keep the wheels turned all the way to one side, then the other. The pressure must stabilize within 105±5 bar.
If the pressure is correct: replace the steering gear.
If the pressure is below the above values: replace the control valve.
Connect two supply lines (3) control valve and tighten to 8 Nm. Wrap fittings (2) on the steering cylinder and tighten to 8 Nm.
Remove:
- fitting 7 from the high pressure pipeline (1);
- fitting 6 from the power steering electric pump.
Install:
- high pressure pipeline (1);
- washer tank;
- right front fender liner;
- front right wheel.
Fill the power steering fluid reservoir to the maximum mark «A» traffic jams (4).
With the engine off, slowly turn the steering wheel from one end position to the other (about 10 times).
Add liquid up to the mark «A» on the dipstick (4).
Start the engine and let it idle for three minutes without moving the steering wheel.
Add fluid as the level drops.
Bleed the hydraulic system by turning the steering wheel all the way to each side several times. Add fluid as the level drops.
Attention. Use certified power steering fluid when filling the circuit and topping up.
