The sensor determines the direction of rotation of the steering wheel and its speed of rotation. It sends this information to the control units via the CAN IS bus. The sensor is driven by a mechanical device that is moved by turning the steering wheel.
Electrical characteristics
The sensor receives power after the ignition switch («+» ARS).
When the ignition is switched on, the current consumed by the sensor is less than 150 mA. The sensor has a 6-pin blue connector.
Calibration of the sensor is necessary in the following cases:
- removal and installation of the steering wheel angle sensor;
- engagement adjustment;
- replacement of the block of the dynamic stabilization system (ESP);
- replacement of the switching unit under the steering wheel;
- work with a steering column or with a support of a steering column.
Checking the actuator
When testing, the electric motor of the electric drive pump module is turned on for 30 seconds and runs at a speed of 3000 rpm.
