All pistons have two compression rings and one oil scraper ring. The upper compression ring has a chrome plated outer surface and the second ring has a trapezoidal cross-section. Figure 270 shows sections of piston rings, which also show how the joints of the rings are located. Piston rings have markings that should be on top when installing the rings.
