Removal
1. Open the hood and have an assistant support it. Then, using a pencil or marker, trace around each hinge to mark its position relative to the hood to ensure proper installation.
2. Disconnect the supply line from the right washer nozzle and release this line from the clamps.
3. Remove the bolts securing the hood to the hinges on each side. With the help of an assistant, carefully remove the hood from the car. Place the hood in a safe place.
4. Inspect the hood hinges for signs of wear and play and replace them if necessary. Each hinge is attached to the body with two bolts. When installing, apply a small amount of general purpose grease to the hinges.
Installation and adjustment
5. With the help of an assistant, move the hood to its normal position and screw in the bolts. Align the hinges with the marks made during removal and tighten the bolts securely. Connect the washer nozzle line.
6. Close the hood and check that it is correctly positioned relative to the adjacent panels. If necessary, loosen the hinge mounting bolts and adjust the position of the hood accordingly. Once the correct position is achieved, tighten the hinge mounting bolts securely.
7. Once the hood is positioned correctly, make sure it locks and unlocks correctly. If adjustment is required, loosen the hood lock mounting bolts and adjust the lock position accordingly. Once the lock is working properly, tighten the locking bolts securely.
