For detailed information on the braking system, please refer to chapter 9 of this book. Here are just some of the information regarding the use of the brakes.
Your vehicle is equipped with a diagonally split dual circuit brake system. Front brakes - disc. The rear brakes are drum brakes, while newer models are equipped with rear disc brakes. If one of the brake circuits fails, the other continues to work. When one of the brake circuits fails, you will have to apply more force to the brake pedal and take into account the increase in braking distance. It is recommended to fix the problem as soon as possible. It is best to have this done by a qualified technician or dealer.
Be aware that disc brakes are less effective when wet. After visiting the car wash, lightly depress the brake pedal several times while driving. This will remove the water film.
Watch the brake warning light (see relevant point of paragraph 2).
