For detailed information on the braking system, refer to Chapter 9 of this book. Here are just some of the information regarding the use of brakes.
Your vehicle is equipped with a dual-circuit, diagonally split braking system. The front brakes are disc brakes. The rear brakes are drum brakes, and newer models are equipped with rear disc brakes. If one of the brake circuits fails, the other continues to operate. When one of the brake circuits fails, you will have to apply more force to the brake pedal and take into account an increase in the braking distance. It is recommended to correct the problem as soon as possible. It is best to leave this to a qualified technician or dealer.
Keep in mind that the effectiveness of disc brakes is reduced when they are wet. After visiting the car wash, lightly press the brake pedal several times while driving. This will remove the water film.
