Fuel type
Gasoline engines use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating equal to or greater than that specified on the label affixed near the fuel filler neck.
Note. In an emergency, you can use low octane gasoline for a very short time. In such a situation, limit the driving speed to moderate or low and in no case allow the engine to knock. Refuel with the prescribed fuel as soon as possible.
Diesel engines use high quality diesel fuel (with sulfur content not more than 0.3%).
Attention! Do not use any other products or mixtures in place of diesel fuel.
Attention! If you accidentally refuel your vehicle with gasoline instead of diesel fuel, do not start the engine under any circumstances and contact your dealer immediately to flush the system.
The fluidity of diesel fuel decreases at low temperatures, and hydrocarbons may be released, which can clog the fuel filter. Usually, in order to avoid such problems, quality gas stations sell fuel, the properties of which correspond to the season. However, in spring or autumn, when there is a large temperature variation, the quality of the fuel may not meet current requirements. In this case, especially when stopping/starting frequently at low temperatures, refuel with winter diesel fuel. In agreement with the dealer, as an alternative, you can add the appropriate additive in the proportion written on the container. The additive should be added before refueling. It is only effective when added before the fuel is exposed to cold.
When assembling the vehicle, the engine is adjusted to match the brand of fuel available in the regions for which the vehicle is intended. But in the case of re-exporting the car to other countries or when traveling abroad, it is possible that the available fuel grades will not fully match the engine setting. Consult your dealer for advice.
Don't skimp on fuel quality. Remember that the use of poor quality fuel can damage the engine.
Refueling
Refueling is carried out in the following sequence.
- Be sure to turn off the engine.
Attention! When refueling, do not smoke or use open flames. Gasoline vapors are highly flammable and in enclosed spaces have a very high explosion hazard.
Attention! Refuel only with fuel recommended for your vehicle (indicated on the label next to the tank).
Note. The design of the feed pumps and the fuel delivery rate at different filling stations may be different. Keep this in mind and read the instructions usually on the dispenser label before you start refueling and follow them when refueling.
Note. The useful volume of the fuel tank on a gasoline engine is 55 liters, and on a diesel engine - 60 liters
- Open the fuel tank filler. To do this, the fuel tank filler cap must first be unlocked. The plug is unlocked with the key, which must be inserted into the provided slot and turned a quarter of a turn towards the rear of the vehicle. Then you should unscrew the plug.
Note. When removing the filler cap, a hiss may be heard. This is a normal sound and can be ignored.
- Insert the filling nozzle into the fuel filler neck.
- Slowly (without squeezing the pistol lever to failure) pour fuel into the tank. Refuel until then. until the fuel nozzle cuts off the fuel supply. Do not overfill the fuel tank as this may result in fuel spillage due to thermal expansion. The fuel tank is full when the fuel nozzle is switched off for the second time.
- Remove the pistol. Install the plug and lock it.
Warning. When the plug is removed, you will not be able to close the right side door of the car.A Attention! Do not run out of fuel. Misfires can lead to catalytic converter failure (see below).
Inertial fuel switch
This switch cuts off the fuel supply in the event of a collision. After operation, it should be returned to its original state. For more information, see paragraph «Inertial switch» in paragraph 2.
