Driving speed and gear selection
Driving in a low gear to increase acceleration increases fuel consumption significantly.
Do not move in low gears longer than is really necessary.
Trip duration/engine temperature
Frequent cold starts and short trips with frequent stops and starts lead to a significant increase in fuel consumption.
Driving conditions and road conditions
Slow speeds, hill climbing, frequent sharp turns and uneven road surfaces have a significant impact on fuel consumption.
Driving style
This is one of the most important, if not the most important factor.
- Try not to move abruptly. Begin the movement gently and smoothly.
- Do not move in low gears longer than is really necessary.
- Reduce speed slowly. Try to avoid sudden braking.
- Watch the traffic situation. If obstacles arise, slow down in a timely manner.
Vehicle service quality
.To maintain fuel economy, your vehicle must receive prescribed maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer (see chapter 1A or 1B). Check tire pressure regularly.
Other factors.
Other factors include weather conditions, load conditions, use of electrical devices, external attachments, and more.
