Windshield wiper assembly

Installing the windshield wiper drive unit

The windshield wiper motor and linkage are located at the rear of the engine compartment.

Removal



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. Remove the grille located in front of the windshield.

3. If present, unscrew the bolts and remove the protective cover from the engine.

4. Remove the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor.

5. On models where there is insufficient space to remove the wiper linkages between the master cylinder and the bulkhead, move the master cylinder to the side as follows.



6. Loosen the nuts securing the master cylinder to the brake booster, then lift the master cylinder off the struts and move it back without disconnecting the brake lines.

7. On models with the electronic control unit located in the rear corner of the engine compartment that covers the windshield wiper link bolt, the unit must be removed as follows.

8. Lift the unit cover, then disconnect the control units and remove the unit.

9. Unscrew the fastening elements of the windshield wiper mechanism holder plate.

10. Unscrew the bolt (indicated by the arrow) windscreen wiper motor mounts.

12. Remove the windshield wiper from the vehicle.

13. If necessary, unscrew the nut (A) of the windshield wiper linkage drive and the three bolts (B) securing the windshield wiper motor to the windshield wiper mechanism holder plate and remove the motor.

Installation



Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
