Installing the Wiper Drive Assembly
1 - engine, 2 - connector, 3 - mechanism fastening element
The wiper and traction motor is located at the rear of the engine compartment.
Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the grill located in front of the windshield.
3. If present, unscrew the bolts and remove the protective cover from the engine.
4. Remove the electrical connector from the wiper motor.
5. On models where there is insufficient space to remove the wiper rods between the brake master cylinder and bulkhead, move the brake master cylinder to the side as follows.
6. Unscrew the nuts securing the master brake cylinder to the vacuum booster, then lift the master brake cylinder from the racks and move it back without disconnecting the brake pipes.
7. On models with an electronic control unit located in the rear corner of the engine compartment that covers the wiper rod bolt, the unit must be removed as follows.
8. Lift the block cover, then disconnect the control blocks and remove the block.
9. Unscrew the fastening elements of the wiper mechanism holder plate.
10. unscrew the bolt (indicated by an arrow) wiper motor mounts.
11. unscrew the bolt (indicated by an arrow) wiper mounts.
12. Remove windshield wiper from vehicle.
13. Loosen the nut if necessary (A) wiper linkage and three bolts (IN) attaching the wiper motor to the wiper mechanism holder plate and remove the motor.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
