Removal



1. If necessary, remove the engine air supply pipe or air filter housing to improve access.

2. Remove the battery and battery mounting plate.

3. In the engine compartment, disconnect the cable from the clutch release lever.

4. Disconnect the cable housing from the gearbox housing (drawing on the left), and on early models it will be necessary to remove the locking bracket from the gearbox mount (drawing on the right). If necessary, completely loosen the lock nut and the adjuster nut at the end of the clutch cable.



5. Inside the vehicle, remove the lower instrument panel trim and disconnect the plastic cable mount to the clutch pedal.

6. Remove the shell casing near the front bulkhead.

7. Release the cable from the mounting brackets, remove the cable from the engine compartment bulkhead and remove it from the vehicle.

Installation



1. Place the casing on the shell and check that the bushing is securely fixed in the groove of the shell tip.

2. Install the casing in the opening of the front bulkhead and hook the cable to the clutch pedal.

3. Push the shell all the way in to fully seat the support sleeve on the shell tip.

4. Position the cable in front of the anti-roll bar, away from the heater hoses and power steering hoses.



5. Connect the cable to the intermediate corner lever near the gearbox and the clutch release lever.

6. Install the battery and adjust the clutch pedal travel as described in subsection 7.3.
