Removing
1. If necessary, to improve access, remove the air supply pipe to the engine or air filter housing.
2. Remove the battery and battery mounting pad.
3. In the engine compartment, disconnect the cable from the clutch release lever.
4. Disconnect the cable sheath from the gearbox housing (drawing on the left), and on early models it will be necessary to remove the blocking bracket from the gearbox suspension (drawing on the right). If necessary, completely loosen the locknut and adjuster nut from the end of the clutch cable.
5. Inside the car, remove the lower instrument panel trim, and disconnect the plastic fastening of the cable to the clutch pedal.
6. Remove the shell casing near the front baffle.
7. Release the cable from the fastening brackets, remove the cable from the partition of the engine compartment and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Place the shroud on the sheath and check that the sleeve is well seated in the groove of the sheath tip.
2. Install the sheath in the opening of the front bulkhead and hook the cable to the clutch pedal.
3. Push the sheath as far as it will go so that the support sleeve is fully seated on the sheath tip.
4. Position the cable in front of the anti-roll bar, away from the heater hoses and power steering hoses.
5. Connect the cable to the angle intermediate lever near the gearbox and the clutch release lever.
6. Install the battery and adjust the clutch pedal travel as described in subsection 7.3.
