Removing
1. On some models, to improve access, remove the air supply pipe to the air filter.
2. Remove the stopper from the master cylinder reservoir, filter and pump out the fluid from the reservoir. Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid level sensor.
3. Remove the mounting bracket and remove the mounting pin from the brake fluid reservoir. Remove the reservoir from the master cylinder and remove the O-rings from the master cylinder windows. If the O-rings are defective, they must be replaced.
4. Clean the dirt from the junctions of the brake pipes to the brake master cylinder, place a rag under the junctions to collect the leaked brake fluid. Unscrew the nuts securing the brake pipes to the brake master cylinder.
5. Remove the 2 nuts securing the master cylinder to the vacuum brake booster. Remove the master brake cylinder from the engine compartment.
Repair
Repair of the main brake cylinder can only be carried out with a repair kit of parts.
When repairing the master cylinder, pay attention to the location of all elements in order to reinstall them in their places.
When assembling the master cylinder, lubricate all parts and sealing rings with clean brake fluid.
Repair the main brake cylinder in accordance with the instructions attached to the repair kit of parts.
Installation
1. Before installing the master brake cylinder in place, check the distance from the end of the pusher of the vacuum booster to the mating surface of the master brake cylinder, which should be 22.3±0.1 mm.
2. Remove all traces of dirt from the mating surfaces of the brake master cylinder and brake booster and check that the O-ring is properly seated at the rear of the brake master cylinder.
3. Install the brake master cylinder on the vacuum booster so that the push rod of the vacuum booster enters the bore of the master brake cylinder exactly in the center. Screw nuts of fastening of the brake cylinder to the vacuum amplifier and tighten them the demanded moment.
4. Clean the brake pipe couplings and install them in the brake master cylinder. Screw the union nuts to the required torque.
5. Install the O-rings in the brake master cylinder windows and install the brake fluid reservoir on the brake cylinder. Secure the tank with a pin and a fastening bracket.
6. Fill the reservoir with new brake fluid and bleed the air from the brake system.
