Removing
1. Remove the brake disc and note the location of all hand brake parts.
2. Using a special wrench, compress the upper retaining spring of the brake shoe, turn it 90°and remove it from the brake shield.
3. Disconnect the upper brake shoe return spring.
4. Release and remove the regulator.
5. Release the upper shoe from the release mechanism and remove the lower brake shoe return spring.
6. Remove the lower brake shoe fixing spring and remove the handbrake shoe.
7. Disconnect (arrow) hand brake cable from the brake pad release mechanism.
8. Check the condition and wear of the handbrake brake pads. The minimum thickness of the brake shoe lining is 1 mm. When installing the pads, new return springs must be used.
Installation
1. Clean the rear brake parts. Apply a lubricant with a high melting point to the contact points of the brake pads with the brake shield.
2. Check that the brake pad release mechanism is properly assembled, then connect it to the end of the handbrake cable.
3. Install the lower handbrake shoe and secure it with the fixing spring.
4. Install the upper shoe and lower return spring. Check the correct installation of the upper brake shoe and secure it with a fixing spring.
5. Install the adjuster between the brake pads. Install the upper recoil catch on the lower shoe, then on the upper shoe.
6. Center the position of the brake pads.
7. Install the brake disc.
