The valve is controlled by the movement of the stabilizer and regulates the hydraulic pressure on the rear brakes to prevent the wheels from jamming during hard braking.
On some models with rear drum brakes, the valves are combined with the working brake cylinders.
Examination
To check the performance of the pressure control valves in the brake system, it is necessary to use special equipment. Therefore, these works must be carried out only at the TO station.
Removing
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Wipe the area around the joints (indicated by arrows) piping on the valve. Place installation marks on the valve and piping.
3. Unscrew the connecting nuts and disconnect the brake pipes from the valve.
4. Loosen the valve mounting bolts (1), disconnect the spring (2) valve actuator from the suspension and remove the valve from under the vehicle.
Installation
1. Completely clean the brake pressure control valve and lubricate the threads of the valve mounting bolts with an anti-screw agent (Loctite Frenetanch).
2. Reinstall the valve and connect the valve control spring. Tighten the valve mounting bolts to the required torque.
3. Connect the brake pipes to the valve and screw them with union nuts.
4. Remove air from the brake system.
