Attention! To install the lower ball joint of the front suspension, you need a special tool Peugeot 0615J. If you do not have this tool, replace the lower ball joint at a service station.
Removal
1. Remove the steering knuckle and hub from the vehicle.
2. Remove the lower ball joint protective plate.
3. Using a hammer and a flat punch, tap out the ball joint retainer.
4. Install the special tool onto the ball joint, aligning the tool with the grooves (indicated by arrows) in the ball joint, and secure the tool by screwing the old nut onto the ball joint. Unscrew the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
Installation
1. Screw the ball joint into the steering knuckle.
2. Install the special tool, being careful not to damage the ball joint protective boot, and tighten the joint to the specified torque.
3. Using a hammer and punch, tap the ball joint into one of the grooves in the steering knuckle.
4. Install a new ball joint protector plate.
5. Install the steering knuckle together with the hub onto the vehicle.
