Repair

Replacing the front pivot bushing and rear suspension of the unit requires the use of a hydraulic press, bearing puller and mount. Therefore, this work should be performed at a service station.

1. Clean the lower arm from dirt and anti-corrosion coating.

2. Check the lever for cracks, distortion or any other defects.

Installation

1. Place the lower arm back in place, insert the front pivot bolt and screw the nut onto it without tightening it completely.

2. Install the rear pivot point bushing and secure it with the bolts, tightening them to the specified torque.

3. Install the lower ball joint of the steering knuckle into the lower arm. Tighten the ball joint with a new nut to the specified torque.

4. Install the wheel and lower the car. Rock the car until all suspension components are in place. Finally tighten the lower arm front pivot bolt nut to the specified torque.

5. If necessary, check the front wheel alignment angles.
