Removing
1. Remove the rear brake drum.
2. Using a lever, remove the protective cap from the center of the rear wheel hub.
3. Using a hammer and punch, bend the locking collar on the rear wheel hub nut.
4. Loosen the hub nut.
5. Using a puller, remove the hub from the stud.
6. Check the condition of the hub bearing. It is recommended to replace the hub bearings, as When removing the hub, the bearings may be damaged.
7. Check the pin for wear or mechanical damage. Replace if necessary.
Installation
1. Make sure the bearing is filled with grease, lubricate the journal with a light coat of engine oil.
2. Install the new bearing onto the trunnion using a hammer and a tubular mandrel that presses against the inner race of the bearing.
3. Install a new hub nut.
4. Tighten it to the required torque.
5. Using a hammer and drift, caulk the collar of the nut into the groove in the hub.
6. Install the brake drum.
