Removing
1. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the corresponding rear wheel.
2. Place a jack under the outer end of the rear lower arm and raise the arm just enough so that the spring is slightly compressed.
3. Unscrew the outer hinge bolt of the lever (indicated by an arrow).
4. Unscrew the nut from the inner hinge bolt of the arm.
5. Remove the lower rear shock absorber mounting bolt.
6. Disconnect the brake pipes and electrical wires from the mounting brackets on the lower arm.
7. Slowly lower the jack until the spring is fully released. Remove the spring along with its upper and lower sockets.
8. Check the condition of the spring.
Installation
1. Install the lower and upper spring seats in place. Lubricate the damper rod and lower shock mount with Molykote G Rapide Plus.
2. Install the spring in place and use a jack to raise the lever, making sure that the ends of the spring are correctly seated in the sockets.
3. Align the lower arm with the hub and insert the outer pivot bolt. Install new nuts onto the inner and outer pivot bolts, hand-tight.
4. Align the lower part of the shock absorber with the lower arm, insert the mounting bolt and screw a new nut onto it by hand.
5. Lower the jack and release the lower arm. Fasten the brake pipes and electrical wires to the lower lever with the fastening brackets.
6. Install the rear wheel and lower the car. Rock the car so that the suspension elements fall into place. Tighten the nuts to the required torque.
