Caution! When replacing the camshaft sealing ring, it is necessary to protect the toothed belt from oil getting on it.
1. Remove the camshaft pulley. On 1.8 and 2.0 liter engine models, remove the pulleys and pulley hubs.
2. Drill two holes in the sealing ring on both sides. Screw self-tapping screws into the hole and pull the ring out using pliers by the screw heads.
3. Clean the sealing ring seat.
4. Lubricate the working lips of the new sealing ring with clean engine oil and install the ring in place using a suitable tubular mandrel. When installing the ring, pay attention to the correct positioning of the working lips, which should be directed inward.
5. Install the camshaft pulley.
