Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Models with 1.6 liter engine capacity

2. Loosen the clamps and remove the air supply hoses from the front right end of the head cover.
3. Remove the tube connecting the air filter and the cylinder head. Also remove the intake manifold on the left side of the cylinder head cover.
4. Disconnect the two brackets and unscrew the two screws located at the front and remove the filter cover. Remove the filter element.

5. Unscrew ten nuts evenly and gradually (indicated by arrows) cylinder head cover fastenings.

6. Remove the cover together with the rubber gasket. Check the gasket for defects and replace if necessary.
Models with 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines
7. Remove the fuel line and fuel injectors.
8. Remove the electrical connector on the left side of the ignition coil, located in the center of the cylinder head cover. Unscrew the six mounting bolts and remove the ignition coil upward.
9. Loosen the clamps and remove the air supply hoses from the front left side of the front cover.
10. Working in a spiral from outside to inside, gradually loosen and then unscrew and remove the bolts securing each head cover.
11. Remove the head covers together with the gaskets.
Installation
1.6 liter models
1. Place the rubber gasket into the groove of the head cover, ensuring it is properly positioned.
2. Lubricate the outer surface of the gasket with sealant.
3. Install the head cover carefully so as not to dislodge the head cover gasket.

4. Check that the gasket is installed correctly. Tighten the cylinder head cover nuts evenly and gradually in the specified sequence.
5. Install the air cleaner element and cover. Reconnect the air supply hoses and the intake duct. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
Models with 1.8 and 2.0 liter engines
6. Place the rubber gasket into the groove of the head cover, ensuring it is properly positioned.
7. Install the head cover carefully so as not to dislodge the head cover gasket.

8. Check that the gasket is installed correctly. Tighten the cylinder head cover nuts evenly and gradually in the specified sequence.
9. Connect the air supply hoses to the front head cover and secure them with clamps.
10. Install the ignition coil between the head covers and secure it with bolts.
11. Install the fuel line and fuel injectors.
12. Connect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check the connections for leaks.
