Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Models with an engine capacity of 1.6 liters
2. Loosen the mounting clamps and remove the air supply hoses from the front right end of the head cover.
3. Remove the tube connecting the air filter and the block head. Also remove the inlet pipe from the left side of the head cover.
4. Disconnect the two brackets and unscrew the two screws located at the front and remove the filter cover. Remove the filter element.
5. Unscrew ten nuts evenly and gradually (indicated by arrows) securing the cylinder head cover.
6. Remove the cover together with the rubber seal. Check the gasket for defects and replace if necessary.
Models with engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters
7. Remove the fuel line and fuel injectors.
8. Remove the electrical connector on the left side of the ignition coil located in the center of the cylinder head cover. Unscrew six bolts of fastening and remove the ignition coil upwards.
9. Loosen the clamps and remove the air supply hoses from the front left side of the front cover.
10. Sequentially, in a spiral, from outside to inside, gradually loosen, and then unscrew and remove the bolts securing each head cover.
11. Remove the head covers along with the gaskets.
Installation
1.6 liter models
1. Install the rubber gasket in the groove of the head cover, ensuring that it is in the correct position.
2. Lubricate the outer surface of the gasket with sealant.
3. Be careful to install the head cover so as not to dislodge the cover gasket.
4. Check that the gasket is installed correctly. Evenly and gradually, in the sequence shown, tighten the nuts securing the cylinder head cover.
5. Install the air filter element and its cover. Reconnect air hoses and inlet. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
Models with engines of 1.8 and 2.0 liters
6. Install the rubber gasket in the groove of the head cover, ensuring that it is in the correct position.
7. Be careful to install the head cover so as not to dislodge the cover gasket.
8. Check that the gasket is installed correctly. Evenly and gradually, in the sequence shown, tighten the nuts securing the cylinder head cover.
9. Connect the air supply hoses to the front cover of the head and secure them with clamps.
10. Install the ignition coil between the head covers and secure it with bolts.
11. Install the fuel line and fuel injectors.
12. Connect the negative battery cable. Start the engine and check the tightness of the connections.
