Removing
1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery (see «Disconnecting the battery»).
2. Press the clip and disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head cover (pic. 4.2).

3. On later models, remove the ignition coil pack from the top of the spark plugs as described in chapter 5B.
4. Loosen the two nuts and remove the sealing washers (in the presence of), then remove the cylinder head cover with its rubber seal. Inspect the seal for signs of damage or deterioration and replace if necessary.
5. Remove the spacer of each cover stud, and then remove the flinger plate (pic. 4.5, a, b).

Installation
6. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and cover and remove all traces of oil.
7. Install the rubber seal around the perimeter of the cylinder head cover, correctly positioning it along its entire length (pic. 4.7).

8. Install the slinger plate, and then install the spacers on the cover studs.
9. Carefully install the cylinder head cover onto the engine, being extra careful not to dislodge the rubber seal.
10. Install sealing washers (in the presence of) and screw on the nuts securing the cover, and then tighten them to the prescribed torque.
11. If applicable, install the ignition coil pack (see chapter 5B), and then connect the vent hose to the cylinder head cover. Finally, connect the battery.
Engines 1.6 l
Removing
12. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery (see «Disconnecting the battery») and remove the ignition coil as described in chapter 5B.
13. Working in a cross sequence, gradually and evenly loosen the cylinder head cover bolts and remove the cover. Remove the gasket.
Installation
14. Carefully clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and cover and remove all traces of oil.
15. Check the condition of the lid composite gasket and reuse if intact. If the gasket is damaged, it can be repaired with silicone sealant.
16. Install the cover (-And) and tighten the bolts in the prescribed sequence (pic. 4.16).

17. Install the ignition coil (see chapter 5B).
18. Connect the battery.
