Note: If there is a camshaft oil seal leak, inspect the timing belt for signs of oil contamination. If signs of oil contamination are detected, the belt should be replaced. Before installing a new belt, remove all traces of oil from the toothed pulleys and surrounding area.
1. Remove the camshaft timing pulley as described in paragraph 7.
2. Mark the installation depth of the cuff relative to the cylinder head surface to ensure correct installation.
3. Punch or drill two small holes diametrically opposite each other in the cuff. Screw a self-tapping screw into each hole and pull the cuff out using pliers on the screws. Alternatively, carefully pry out the cuff using a flat-head screwdriver (figure 8.3).

4. Clean the cuff body and remove any roughness or burrs that may cause damage to the cuff during installation.
5. Lubricate the sealing lips of the new seal with clean engine oil and install it in place. The cuff should be installed to the depth noted during removal. Use a suitable tubular tool, such as a socket head, that rests only on the hard outer edge of the cuff. Be careful not to damage the sealing lips during installation. Please note that the sealing lips must face inward.
6. Install the camshaft timing pulley as described in paragraph 7.
