7. Pack the new torque converter seal with a suitable mandrel "c" (see illustration).

8. Check the condition of the torque converter for wear and mechanical damage. Pay special attention to the holes for the mounting bolts, the flats of the oil pump, and the grooves of the torque converter shaft.
9. Before installing a new torque converter, fill the transmission oil to half its filling volume.
10. Apply a thin layer of grease to the working surface of the seal.
11. Install the torque converter using the attachments used during removal.
12. Check the torque converter for proper installation by installing a suitable thrust roller as shown in the illustration and locking the torque converter. If the roller fits into the corresponding hole without any obstruction, the torque converter is installed correctly.
