57. Remove the gearbox as described above. Remove the torque converter retaining device (if installed).

58. Screw 2 long M8x125 bolts into its open surface and use the handles to remove the transformer. Be prepared for a lot of transmission fluid to spill when doing this.

59. Lubricate the oil seal housing with clean transmission fluid and pull out the oil seal using a suitable hook.

60. Lubricate the new oil seal with clean transmission fluid and install it with the jaws facing inward. Drive the seal inside using a suitable tube until the outer surface is flush with the surface of the seal body.

61. Install the torque converter, taking care not to damage the oil seal. Turn the torque converter slightly back and forth until its mounting tabs engage with the oil pump. Remove the 2 long bolts used to remove the torque converter.

62. Install the gearbox in place.
