Adjusting the brake band (Peugeot 305)

27. This operation is not routine and should be carried out separately in the event that you suspect that the brake band is adjusted incorrectly (the sign is a change in engine speed when shifting from third gear to fourth and vice versa), or after removing the tape adjustment screw to eliminate the leak.



28. Raise and support the front of the car, Find the brake band adjusting screw (next to the drain plug of the transmission pan).

29. Loosen the adjusting screw lock nut and tighten it to a torque of 1.0 kg m, and then back it out exactly 2 turns.

30. Tighten the lock nut, being careful not to disturb the position of the screw.

31. Lower the car.
