Replacing the transmission fluid filter (Peugeot 305)

8. If the fluid has not been changed often enough or has become dirty for some reason, the mesh filter should be replaced.

9. Drain the fluid (see above) and unscrew the nut of the dipstick guide tube fitting.

10. Unscrew the screws and remove the tray. Clean the inside of the tray and the magnet.

11. The filter is now open and can be removed by unscrewing the 9 mounting bolts.

13. Discard the old mesh filter and install a new one in its frame. Install a new O-ring and a new gasket and place the assembled filter onto the bottom surface of the valve block.

14. Insert and tighten the 9 mounting bolts, making sure that the bolts of the specified length go into their designated places and are tightened to the required torque (see B/Figure 12.73 and the table below).

15. Install the pan with a new gasket and gradually tighten its mounting screws to the required torque.

16. Fill the gearbox with transmission fluid (see above).
