1.0g Gearshift mechanism. Manual transmission MG5T
The main elements of a manual transmission are the primary and secondary shafts, differential and main gear. All forward gears are synchronized.
Attention! Vehicles with a manual transmission serial number, starting from 809389, are equipped with a gear shift mechanism with a lever not in a metal case, but in a plastic case. In addition, the select and shift cables are not adjustable.
Torque from the crankshaft of the engine is transmitted to the primary (input) gearbox shaft through the clutch.
The gear is engaged by moving the synchronizer clutch. Synchronizers provide fast and smooth gear changes.
The movable linkage of the gearbox causes the corresponding shift fork to move the synchronizer clutch along the shaft, as a result of which the ring gear of the desired gear meshes with the synchronizer clutch hub.
Removing the gearbox is necessary when replacing it or when repairing or overhauling.
Attention! Self-repair of the gearbox is not recommended. Therefore, this section provides a procedure for only removing and installing the gearbox, as well as the gearshift mechanism.
