You can check the operation of the thermal switch by placing it in a container of water and heating the water. It is also necessary to install a thermometer in the container.
1. Connect the thermal switch to the power source (battery). Connect a test light to this circuit. Keep the heat-sensitive end of the switch in hot water (see illustration).

2. Make sure that the indicator light comes on when the water temperature matches the temperature at which the thermal switch is supposed to operate.
3. Let the water cool down a little, and then lower the thermal switch into the water again to make sure the indicator light does not light. This means that the thermal switch contacts have opened. The corresponding nominal values are given in the specifications.
