The water pump is driven by a toothed belt. This means that access to the water pump is only possible after removing the timing belt. The gas distribution mechanism is fixed with the help of stop bolts (purchased or made independently). And only after this can the water pump be removed from the cylinder block. The location and mounting of the water pump is shown in Illustrations 4.0 and 4.0a).
