Oil filter (Peugeot J5)

The oil filter has a bypass valve and only filters with such a valve should be installed. The filter is located at the front of the engine compartment, the parts related to the oil filter are shown in figure 310.

To remove the oil filter, use a tie strap. Otherwise, you can place a piece of sandpaper on the filter, with the sandpaper facing the filter, grab the filter with both hands and unscrew it. If it is not possible to unscrew the filter in this way, insert a powerful screwdriver into the filter housing and use it to unscrew the oil filter like a lever.

Lubricate the new filter's sealing ring with engine oil and tighten the filter to a torque of 11 Nm. Since it's difficult to use a torque wrench, the tightening torque is determined by eye.
