In cases where the state of the object of verification is on the verge of admissibility, the decision to pass the inspection remains at the discretion of the inspector. This decision will be determined by the inspector's willingness to offer, say, a close relative or friend, the use of your vehicle if it is in the stated condition. If the car is clean and looks like it has been taken care of, the inspector will tend to consider the car as having been inspected, which is not the case for a car that looks sleazy and obviously run down.
In this Guide, we have only been able to summarize the inspection requirements that were in effect at the time the book was prepared for publication. The requirements for inspections are becoming more and more stringent, although some relaxations are being made for older vehicles.
You will need an assistant to perform some of these checks.
These checks were divided into four categories as follows:
- 1 Checks to be performed FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT
- 2 Checks performed WITH THE VEHICLE ON THE GROUND
- 3 Checks to be carried out WITH THE VEHICLE LIFTED WITH FREE ROTATING WHEELS
- 4 Checking the COMPOSITION OF THE EXHAUST GAS
