2. Place the filter assembly on the workbench and remove the screws securing the filter cover to the base. Remove the cover and take out the filter element, making note of how it is installed (figure 19.2, a-c).

3. Wipe the inside of the air filter cover and base clean, then install the new filter element, positioning it correctly.
4. Place the cover correctly on the base and tighten the screws securely.
5. Install the air cleaner assembly onto the vehicle as described in chapter 4A.
