1.6 liter models
1. Disconnect the retaining clamps and remove the inlet pipe from the front of the cylinder head cover.
2. Unscrew the two screws (indicated by arrows) fastenings on the front of the head cover.
3. Remove the two filter cover brackets.

4. Remove the filter cover (photo on the left) and remove the filter element (photo on the right).
5. Install a new filter element and perform all actions in the reverse order of removal.
1.8 and 2.0 liter models
1. Detach the bracket (indicated by arrows) and remove the inlet fitting tube from the air filter housing cover.
2. Unscrew the screws (indicated by arrows), securing the cover to the air filter housing and remove the cover.
3. Remove the filter element and wipe the air filter housing and cover.
4. Install the new air filter element and the previously removed elements.
