General information about the injection system «Bosch MEV 17.4» (Peugeot 207)

The Peugeot 207 petrol engines use a direct fuel injection and ignition system "Bosch MEV 17.4". This system controls the fuel injection and ignition process based on information about the air pressure at the intake and the engine speed. The computer of the electronic injection system has a rewritable memory of the type "Flash-Eprom". This type of memory allows, in the event of a change in calibration, to change the contents of the computer memory without dismantling or replacing the ECU itself. Instead of replacing the unit or "Eprom" memory, the operation consists of "teleloading" the computer software into its memory using the appropriate diagnostic tool for servicing using the diagnostic connector.
