1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
2. Remove shelves under "torpedo" either side of the heater. Unscrew the fixing screws of the heater cover and remove the cover by disconnecting the alarm switch.
3. Disconnect from the heater 3 control rods and wiring of the fan motor (see b/fig. 11.14).
4. Remove the bottom bracket to which the heater cover is attached (see b/fig. 11.15).
5. Pinch the inlet and outlet hoses on the sides of the heater. If you do not have hose clamps, you will have to drain the coolant (see chapter 2A and B/fig. 11.16).
6. After the hoses are pinched (liquid drained), disconnect the hoses from the heater core. Be prepared for some coolant to spill.
7. Unscrew and remove the lower bolt and 2 upper nuts. Remove the heater from the car (see b/fig. 11.17).
8. The heater is installed in the reverse order. When finished, add fluid to the cooling system with the heater set to the maximum heat position (red dot) (see chapter 2A). Start the engine and let it warm up to the temperature at which the fan turns on. Check heater for leaks. Shut off the engine, allow the system to cool down and add coolant if necessary.
