Central malfunction indicator «STOP»
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on, after starting the engine it goes out.
The automatic control system, when the ignition is on and while driving, constantly monitors the performance of certain functions and the condition of individual components of the car, such as a drop in engine oil pressure, an increase in oil temperature, a drop in the level of coolant and brake fluid, malfunctions of the brake force distribution system and the coolant temperature gauge. Central malfunction indicator «STOP» flashes if one of the doors or the tailgate is not closed. The icon appears on the display for a few seconds and the buzzer sounds.
Attention! If the warning light comes on in a non-flashing mode while the engine is running, stop immediately. Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.
Engine oil pressure drop indicator
This signaling device is connected to the central fault signaling device «STOP».
When this warning lamp comes on when the engine is running, it is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Insufficient oil pressure in the engine» or «Add oil to the engine» on the multifunction display.
In this case, stop, stop the engine and check the oil level. If there is not enough oil in the engine lubrication system, bring its level to normal. If the engine oil level is normal, do not start the engine and contact your Peugeot dealer or workshop.
Coolant level warning device
This signaling device is connected to the central fault signaling device «STOP».
Lights up for 3 seconds each time the ignition is turned on. Illumination of this warning lamp is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Add coolant» on the multifunction display.
Attention! In this case, stop, stop the engine and let it cool down.
Open the expansion tank cap and add coolant.
Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.
Attention! When opening the expansion tank cap on a hot engine, care must be taken, as escaping vapors can cause severe burns. To do this, close the cap of the expansion tank with a thick layer of cloth and slowly unscrew it until a hissing sound appears. After the hiss stops, slowly unscrew and remove the cap from the expansion tank.
Signaling device of inclusion of a parking brake and falling of level of a brake liquid
This signaling device is connected to the central fault signaling device «STOP». Lights up every time the ignition is turned on.
When this warning lamp comes on, it is accompanied by a buzzer and a message on the multifunction display indicating the cause of the alarm:
- «Parking brake not released» - with the parking brake on or not completely off;
- «Brake fluid level insufficient» - when the level of brake fluid in the reservoir falls below the permissible limit (the indicator remains on even after the parking brake is completely released);
- «Faulty braking system». This indicator, lighting up simultaneously with the ABS indicator, indicates a malfunction of the brake system and a failure of the wheel brake torque distribution system.
Attention! If the warning light comes on, stop immediately.
Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.
Low battery indicator
The indicator lights up when the ignition is turned on, after starting the engine it goes out. When this warning lamp comes on, it is accompanied by a buzzer and a message on the multifunction display «No battery charge».
The signaling device is on:
- in case of failure of the electric circuit of the battery charge;
- when loosening the fastening of the battery or starter terminals;
- when the alternator drive belt breaks or loosens;
- in the event of a generator failure.
To reduce battery discharge, turn off all non-essential power consumers.
Attention! Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.
Anti-lock brake system malfunction indicator (ABS)
The signaling device lights up for 3 seconds after the ignition is switched on or during the engine start and goes out after the end of the process of automatic check of the system performance. If the signaling device does not go out or continues to burn at a speed of movement above 12 km / h, then this indicates a violation of the ABS.
If the control lamp does not light up a few seconds after the ignition is turned on, does not go out, or lights up while driving, then the ABS is faulty.
At the same time, the possibility of braking the car in normal mode using the brake booster is fully preserved. Illumination of this warning lamp is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Faulty ABS system» on the multifunction display.
Attention! Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.
Signaling device of the dynamic stabilization system (ESP/ASR)
The signaling device lights up for 3 seconds after the ignition is switched on or during the engine start and goes out after the end of the process of automatic check of the system performance.
Attention! If the warning light stays on or comes on while the engine is running, or if the buzzer sounds and the message appears while the vehicle is moving «ESP/ASR system malfunctioning», contact a Peugeot dealer or a Peugeot Dealership as soon as possible.
Signaling device of onboard system of self-diagnostics of the engine
The indicator lights up when the ignition is switched on and goes out after the end of the automatic test process.
The carbon filter clogging indicator is connected to the indicator of the automatic on-board engine diagnostics system. Illumination of the warning lamp when the engine is running is accompanied by a buzzer and a message on the display:
- «Faulty exhaust gas cleaning system» - indicates a violation of the efficiency of the toxicity reduction system;
- «Diesel fuel additive level dropped to a minimum» or «Increased risk of carbon filter clogging» - indicates a malfunction of the carbon filter.
Attention! Warning light flashing with engine running, accompanied by buzzer and message «Faulty catalytic converter» on the multifunction display, indicates a malfunction of the fuel injection or ignition system. This can damage the catalytic converter (only applies to vehicles with a petrol engine).
Contact a Peugeot dealer or workshop immediately.
Diesel engine glow plug indicator
The indicator comes on every time the ignition is turned on and goes out when the temperature is high enough to ignite the fuel. When the glow plugs are turned on, all other large consumers of electricity must be turned off - otherwise the battery will be overloaded with high current.
Immediately after turning off the control lamp, start the engine.
Diesel fuel filter water ingress indicator
Illumination of this warning lamp is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Water in the fuel filter» on the multifunction display. Possible failure of the fuel injection system.
Attention! Contact a Peugeot dealer or workshop immediately.
Front Passenger Airbag Disabled Warning Light
Illumination of this warning lamp is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Passenger airbag disabled» on the multifunction display. If the front passenger airbag is disabled, the warning light comes on when the ignition is switched on and stays on.
Attention! If the indicator flashes, contact your dealer or Peugeot Dealership.
Airbag warning device
The indicator lights up for a few seconds after the ignition is switched on and then goes out. When this warning lamp comes on when the engine is running, it is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Airbag defective» on the multifunction display indicating the presence of:
- front airbag malfunctions;
Attention! Contact a Peugeot dealer or workshop immediately.
- malfunction of side or window airbags.
Seat belt indicator
The indicator lights up when the engine is running, if the driver has not fastened the seat belt.
Minimum fuel level indicator in the fuel tank
The indicator lights up for 3 seconds after the ignition is turned on and then goes out. Illumination of the warning lamp when the engine is running is accompanied by a buzzer and the message «Minimum amount of fuel in the fuel tank» on the multifunction display.
From the moment the warning light comes on, the car can drive with the remaining fuel reserve for at least 50 km (fuel tank capacity approx. 60 l).
Blinking of the signaling device indicates a malfunction of the fuel level sensor.
Attention! If the indicator flashes, contact your dealer or Peugeot Dealership immediately.
Coolant temperature gauge
The pointer works when the ignition is on.

If the arrow is in zone A (pic. 1.12), then the coolant temperature is normal.
If the arrow is in zone B of the scale, then the coolant temperature is too high; while avoiding an increase in engine speed and engine load.
When the car is moving under normal conditions, the arrow should be in the middle zone of the scale.
With a heavy load on the engine and high outside air temperature, it is possible from time to time to move the arrow to the right side of the scale. This should not cause an alarm until the central fault indicator flashes «STOP» accompanied by a buzzer and a message «Engine overheated» on the multifunction display.
Attention! Stop the vehicle immediately, turn off the engine and determine the cause of the increase in coolant temperature.
If the cause is a low coolant level, let the engine cool, open the expansion tank cap and add coolant.
Contact a Peugeot dealer or service station as soon as possible.

Instrument cluster display
After the ignition is switched on, it displays three functions in sequence:
- mileage indicator until the next maintenance;
- engine oil level indicator;
- odometer (general and daily).
Note. The total and daily mileage counter readings can be read for up to 30 seconds after the ignition is turned off, and they are also displayed when the driver's door is opened and when the car is unlocked / locked.
Engine oil gauge
After switching on the ignition, the oil level indicator lights up for about 10 seconds, following the mileage indicator until the next maintenance.
Max level
If the readings of the oil level indicator are confirmed by a dipstick check, it should be borne in mind that exceeding the maximum level can damage the engine.
Attention! Contact a Peugeot dealer or workshop immediately.
Minimum level
Check the level with the dipstick and top up. The readings will be accurate if the car is standing on a horizontal platform and at least 10 minutes have passed since the engine was stopped.
Attention! If no action is taken, severe engine damage may result. Contact a Peugeot dealer or workshop immediately.
Oil level sensor malfunction
Flashing Pointer Segments, Warning Light and Indicators «Min» And «Max» indicate a malfunction of the oil level sensor.
Dashboard backlight intensity control

Turn on the exterior lights and press the button to adjust the intensity of the instrument panel and multifunction display backlight (pic. 1.13). When the brightness of the backlight reaches the minimum (or maximum) value, release the button and then press it again to increase (or reduce) brightness.
When the backlight reaches the desired brightness, release the button.
Trip meter reset button

To reset the trip meter to zero with the ignition on, press the button (pic. 1.14).
Multifunction display «IN» general description

This display provides the following information (pic. 1.15):
- time;
- date;
- ambient temperature (if there is a possibility of ice, the°С symbol will flash);
- performance indicators of the radio;
- control the open position of the door (interior doors, tailgate or bonnet);
- alarm messages (For example: «Faulty battery charging system») or short term information (For example, «Front Passenger Airbag Deactivated») - they can be erased by pressing buttons 1 or 2;
- on-board computer information.
Parameter adjustment
Hold down button 1 for 2 s to be able to make adjustments. Then each press of button 1 will call up the following parameters for adjustment:
- language for information messages;
- speed units (km/h or mph);
- temperature units (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit);
- time format (12 hour mode then 24 hour mode);
- hour;
- minute;
- year;
- month;
- number.
A short press on button 2 allows you to change the selected parameter in steps. If you press it for a long time, the parameter will change quickly. If no action is taken within 10 seconds, the display will return to normal mode with all new adjustments saved.
Attention! For safety reasons, set the parameters with the vehicle stopped.
On-board computer

Each time you press the button located at the end of the windshield wiper combination lever, the display shows in sequence (pic. 1.16, 1.17):

The maximum driving distance that can be driven with the fuel remaining in the fuel tank (power reserve) with the same driving style (pic. 1.18).
When there is less than 2 liters of fuel left in the tank, only three digital segments light up.
Current fuel consumption

The current fuel consumption is indicated in l/100 km and is determined during the last 2 s (pic. 1.19).
This is the value that is determined during the last 2 s. This function only works when driving at a speed of at least 20 km/h.
The limit figure displayed on the display is 30 l / 100 km.
Average fuel consumptionAverage fuel consumption is shown in l/100 km (see fig. 1.19).
Shows the average fuel consumption since the last «zeroing» functions.
When the ignition is switched off, the average fuel consumption remains in memory and is calculated on subsequent trips taking into account previous trips.
The limit figure displayed on the display is 30 l / 100 km.

Distance traveled

This is the distance traveled since the trip computer was last reset (pic. 1.21).
After resetting the on-board computer, information about the maximum driving distance will not be displayed until the vehicle has traveled a certain distance.
