The side lights and low beam headlights turn on automatically in case of low external lighting, as well as when the windshield wipers are operating. They turn off as soon as the outside lighting returns to normal or the windshield wiper is turned off.
Note: In foggy weather, the outside light sensor may determine the light level as sufficient. This means that automatic switching on of lighting devices and light signaling may not be activated.
On all new vehicles this feature is activated and always ready for action.
To disable or re-enable the automatic operation of lighting and light signaling devices, do the following:
- turn the ignition key to position 1 (auxiliary consumers);
- press the end of the light switch and hold it down for more than 2 seconds.
Note: After the ignition is turned off and depending on the outside light level, the lights will remain on for approximately 45 seconds or until the doors are locked.
Caution! Do not cover the light sensor located in the center of the instrument panel. It is used to automatically turn on the side lights.
Enabling the function
When the function is activated, a buzzer sounds and the message "Lighting devices operate in automatic mode" appears on the display.
Disabling the function
When the function is disabled, a buzzer sounds.
Note: The function is automatically disabled when the driver uses the manual switches for the lighting and signaling devices.
In case of a light sensor failure, the system will automatically switch to an active state (the lights will come on). In this case, the driver will be warned by a buzzer signal, as well as a message on the display: "Automatic mode of lighting devices is faulty.".
Attention! To have the system checked, please contact a Peugeot service station.
