Vacuum booster brake drive (Peugeot Eurovans 806)

The brake booster cannot be repaired. Failure of the booster does not mean failure of the braking system. The efficiency of the system does not decrease, but to brake you need to press the brake pedal harder so that the brake pressure does not increase.

Caution! When coasting downhill with the engine off, remember that after several presses of the brake pedal, the vacuum in the brake booster is "used up," and the brake system operates without the assistance of the booster. Therefore, more force should be applied to the brake pedal when braking.

To gain access to the vacuum booster, the brake master cylinder must be removed. When removing the vacuum booster, the push rod is disconnected from the brake pedal.
