If only one wheel cylinder or brake caliper has been opened, it is sufficient to bleed the respective brake circuit, namely front left and rear right or front right and rear left brakes. Pumping can be started from the rear, and then move on to the front wheels. We recommend following the vehicle manufacturer's instructions for bleeding the brake system. The manufacturer suggests the following sequence: rear right wheel, rear left, front right and front left.
If the car is equipped with ABS, then when pumping the system in the workshop, an appropriate device is used. Therefore, bleeding the brake system of a car with ABS on your own is allowed only with certain reservations. The first thing to do before bleeding the ABS brake system is to disconnect the battery.
Attention! Components of the ABS hydraulic unit (valves, pump, etc.) must be pumped in the workshop using a special device. And only if the brake fluid did not drain from the ABS hydraulic unit, the bleeding sequence can be as follows.
1. Remove the protective cap from the appropriate bleeder port and put a transparent hose over the port.
2. Dip the other end of the hose into a clear container of brake fluid (see illustrations)
7.2 Bleeding the brake system through the bleeder valve on the front wheel
7.2a Bleeding the brake system through the bleeder valve on the rear wheel
3. Ask the assistant to press a brake pedal against the stop.
4. Turn off the union of prorolling on half-turn, when a brake pedal will be pressed against the stop and watch the escaping brake liquid. As soon as air bubbles are no longer observed in the escaping brake fluid, this means that the air has left the system.
5. Close the bleeder valve while keeping the brake pedal depressed as far as it will go. After closing the fitting, slowly release the pedal. Repeat the same steps on the remaining brake mechanisms.
Attention! When bleeding the brake system, it is necessary to constantly monitor the level of brake fluid in the expansion tank so that it does not empty and air does not enter the system again. Never fill in a tank the brake liquid merged at prorolling. Also, do not fill in brake fluid that has been stored for a long time in an unclosed container.
Note: All types of brake fluid can be used. However, we recommend that you follow the vehicle manufacturer's instructions and use the brake fluid suggested by the vehicle manufacturer.
