All pistons have two compression rings and one oil scraper ring. The upper compression ring has a chrome plated outer surface, and the second ring has a trapezoidal cross-section. Piston rings have markings that should be on top when installing the rings. Figure 349 shows a sectional view of a piston with rings installed.
In addition, piston rings have a color marking (at location "a" in Figure 349), which determines which piston size group the piston ring belongs to (nominal and three increased sizes).
The oil deflector ring consists of three parts.
