When installing the left drive shaft
- Check that the O-ring is correctly installed on the splined end of the shaft and install a new retaining ring at location (6) in Figure 113.
When installing the right drive shaft
- Insert the drive shaft into the support bearing at location (2) and place the boot (5), ring (6) and circular sealing ring (7) on the end of the shaft.
- Insert the lightly lubricated bearing ring (3) into the support bearing (2).
- Turn the two bolts (4) half a turn to tighten the bearing ring.
- Tighten the self-locking nut (1) with a tightening torque of 10 Nm.

When installing both drive shafts
- Lightly lubricate the working surface under the boot and insert the drive shaft into the hub.
- Raise the wishbone to allow the suspension ball joint to be connected. Insert the bolts and tighten the ball joint. Also tighten the steering knuckle lever.
- Install the wheels, lower the vehicle and tighten the drive shaft nuts to a tightening torque of 500 nm. Apply a drop of "Loctite" to the drive shaft thread.
- Lock the drive shaft nuts with a punch.
- Install the caps on the wheel hubs.
